The annual kickoff to summer on Long Island, the Bethpage Air Show takes place at Jones Beach on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th from 10AM-3PM.
As in past years, it will feature the United States Air Force Thunderbirds as show headliners.
Other spectacular performers will include United States Army Golden Knights, United States Marines F-35B Lightning II demo team, United States Navy Growler Legacy Team, 106th Air National Guard Rescue Wing, Farmingdale State College Aviation’s Flying Rams, Skytypers airshow team, Warbird Thunder Airshows performers, the American Airpower Museum Warbirds, and aerobatic pilots Mike Goulian, David Windmiller and Ed Hamill.
While the airshow is a celebration, it is also important to remember that Memorial Day weekend is observed in remembrance of American soldiers who fought and died for our freedom. Originally called Decoration Day, it has been commemorated since the end of the Civil War and a federal holiday since 1971.
